Dad's Rule

Grace and I are so lucky to have this man in our lives. Wanna know why? Cause he's the kind of man that shares his Father's Day candy with us. Now that's what I call love.

Monday Moments

Of the many blogs that inspire me The Rockstar Diaries is a favorite of mine. I have fallen in love with the vintage style photographs that Naomi takes with her Polaroid, Diana, and Holga cameras. I have made a mental wish list of these cameras and much to my amazement I found a Polaroid at a yard sale a couple of months ago. It was a major score for only $2, and then I found out that Polaroid is no longer in business and film is hard to come by. I have been lucky enough to find two jackpots of film and am now happily hording them. Since each picture costs nearly $2 I've become very selective of when I use it.

I snapped a couple while on our reunion trip and Saturday at a friend's birthday party. The picture quality isn't great, but that is what makes each one wonderful. They are so nastalgic and unique. I love all that is vintage and these babies have that vibe. Enjoy!

(My birthday is in less than a month and I am asking for a Holga or a Diana...I can't decide. Maybe BOTH ;-)

{Jeff Hunt Band}

Some really awesome things have been happening for my SUPER talented, SUPER hot hubby's band. Recently they had the mega opportunity of recording at the worldwide Fender headquarters here in Scottsdale. They laid down 4 songs for a professional, radio quality demo. It is going to take a little while for it to be mixed, and I can hardly wait. It is going to be incredible!

I was able to pop in on the guys for a few hours while they recorded and I was so impressed with the Fender building. Everywhere you looked was a unique Fender instrument accompanied by photos and autographs of famous musicians. They had all access to the facility thanks to one of the band members, Seth, who in addition to being a studly guitarist/bassist works for the company.

Singing his little heart out.

The "groupies" (affectionately known as wives)

Check out MORE pics from the photographer who shot them at Club Red here. They are way cool!

Gotta Love a Man Who...

Does his OWN laundry and puts it away. ( I love how he organizes his graphic tees so he can easily see them.)

Spring Break

Although my days of taking a vacation from school to cut loose and have some fun have long since expired, it doesn't mean I can't help others do the same. (I know...I know...how generous of me to take time out of my busy schedule!)

Alexis took a road trip down here with her long lost best friend from Kentucky, Ally. (She wasn't really "lost"... just tucked into some hills back home.) Determined to show them a good time, and to entice them into moving here, I lined up some fun activities. Here are the highlights:

We caught some rays as the Cubs caught a butt whoopin'...

Noshed on some yummy food...

Posed for some pics...

Looked AWESOME in our shades...

Played in a "tent"...

and painted our tootsies!

This was all in the course of a few hours. Most of our time was spent shopping and experiencing the great cuisine that AZ has to offer. (Does Fillie B's count?) Alexis and Ally ("The A Team") went on some HOT dates, thanks to Jace and his buds.

We also crashed a VIP party where Jeff's band played a gig.

The girls went on 2 motorcycle rides with Jeff and Pop, one of which was to ghost town. Finally, to put the finishing touches on a fun filled week, we hung with the family and had a BBQ.

I think my evil plot may have worked. MWAHH HA HA HA!!! I WILL get you my pretties... Just you wait and see...

Love is for EVERYDAY!

Just because Valentines Day has come and gone doesn't mean I can't show you some love and share these pics.

Happy "B-Naversary"

For our 6th anniversary Jeff planned a weekend getaway to Rocky Point, Mexico. What was intended as a full 2 days of "Bow-Chicka-Bow-Wow" sans Grace, turned out to have a few extra surprises. Who knew that where we stayed would be so awesome? As soon as we got there and realized how spacious and nice the place was, we wished the family was there to share the fun. Call us crazy, but we just HAD to invite Mom and Pop to come along with Grace.

Don't get the wrong idea! Oh, there was definitely some "Bow-Chicka-Bow-Wow" enjoyed. See for yourself...

We also delighted in a delicious dinner and a little night life. Oh, and some CRAZY good beef tacos for a midnight snack.

Things worked out perfectly the next day. We were able to still have alone time before the family arrived. We occupied ourselves with a light breakfast, walk on the beach, downtown shopping, and fresh clams eaten on the oceanfront.

We stopped by the supermarket just before meeting the family at the resort. We all headed back to the downtown area for shopping and fresh oysters on the half shell. When we got back, we hit the hot tub (and met a funny guy from Washington state who was in search of a good time) and then Jeff and I cleaned up and went on a dinner date. As fate would have it, the seafood tacos Jeff had loved a decade ago were just as good as the memory. We wrapped the night up by playing Rook on the patio.

We woke up the next morning and while enjoying the views from the balcony we spotted whale!
We went for a closer look on the beach. Pop was in Heaven! After a while, we went back to the balcony to continue whale watching (more arrived) and Jeff and I prepared some goodies - pina coladas and steamed clams with garlic butter. Both turned out fabulously.

What an incredible weekend! It was so nice to be able to share our happy occasion with loved ones. We had the best of both worlds...time for us and time shared with family. Simply prefect...

P.S. Pop's weakness for busty beauties came out on the trip.

My Man

Could it be? Have Jeff and I really been married for 6 whole years? Add that to one kiddie, a home, car, bills, and work (to pay for all of these wonderful things) and you've got yourself two GROWN UPS! I still have those moments when I wake up in the morning, look over at Jeff, and it sinks in..."I am SO married!" That's when I chuckle and reach over for a hug. (or a tickle...maybe even a butt squeeze!)

I don't think I would be happier with any other man. Jeff is perfect for me. That's not to say that we are perfect people, but we compliment one another very nicely. We have so much in common. I can recall, during one of our late night phone conversations (BEFORE becoming romantically involved), discovering that of ALL of the different kinds of cereal out there...Cinnamon Life was his favorite too! It was meant to be...

Within a few months of our marriage Jeff coined the saying, "Team Hunt." (There is a funny story behind that, but I'll have to save it for another time.) It is that motto that sums us up precisely. We are best friends and teammates, working together on a shared goal in life. We have a vision of our potential and are striving to help one another reach it. We are each other's #1 fan. If one of us falls down, the other is there to pick them up. I've got his back, and I know I can rely on him to have mine. Like any team, we have distinct roles that we play. It is the combination of our strengths and weaknesses, and similarities and differences that make the whole of our team unbeatable!

In honor of the 6 wonderful years we have shared, here are 6 wonderful things about my man, Jeff:

1. His Charming Personality

2. His Devastating Handsomeness

3. His Rock Star Abilities

4. His Love for His Family

5. His Style and Taste

6. His Sheer Awesomeness

The {Park} of Life We Love Best

Having a child changes everything. Spontaneity becomes a scarce commodity, where it once was in abundance. Children like predictability. That's why each morning I basically follow the same routine: Wake up to Grace yelling, "MOMMY!" Put some "toons" on. Go to the gym. Come home. Make lunch for Jeff and Jace. See them off to work. Grab Grace and head to the park. (There are even more detailed steps, but you get the picture.)

Grace looks forward to going to the park more than any other activity of the day. You know what, I have to admit that I love it too! There is nothing quite like playing and laughing with your child. So as it turns out, this "do what you want, when you want" girl has come to enjoy the expected. I now need and crave the point in my day where I can turn back time and be a little kid again. Where Grace and I are two Best Buddies having fun in a place that we agree is magical - the park.

(It only gets better when Daddy, Uncle Josh, Shi-Shi, and Corbin come along too!)
